In October of 1799, Pennsylvania governor Thomas McKean sent sixteen men to explore an uncharted forest. By Friday, October 13, all of those men had been killed and mutilated by an evil spirit known as the Hellborn. On Halloween, thirteen of their bodies were discovered partially eaten and missing limbs. The Pennsylvania Congress passes an act which ensures that no one will enter the forest, and that no one will discuss why.
By October 31 of 1800, every living thing that did not flee the Deadwood was slaughtered. The forest remained empty for more than two hundred years. Then, in late 2001, animals began gradually to migrate to the forest, where evil was stirring.
Our game begins in June of 2002. It is up to you to survive.

Notices
razz @ 9-23-07: Forgive my bad-admin-ness. I've been a bit loaded up with school and emotionally so I haven't really been doing my job. I'll get up to it someday, I promise, hopefully this weekend but maybe not. *cries* I'll also be ending the Activity Check sometime in the next whenever, so... keep your eyes open, I guess.

razz @ 9-2-07: There is an ACTIVITY CHECK. If you want to stay here, reply. If not, don't. The Tynan pack meeting will probably be after this.

razz @ 8-8-07: I know we're all doing stuff in our lives and that's perfectly fine, but would anyone and everyone currently involved in a thread reply to it! Thank you. Also, Alphas, please add a character to the index when you accept him/her! Thank you again.
razz @ 8-8-07: Affiliates must now request a spot in the appropriate thread.

[ ]The Tynan Pack (1 sub-board)
The Tynan pack is one for seriously messed up wolves. Anyone that enters without permission risks being attacked on the spot; females also stand the chance of being raped. If you are harsh, conniving, and bitter, come here. If not, you'd best turn tail and leave.

[ ]The Takana Pack (1 sub-board)
Some view it as hell, while others see it as heaven. No matter which way you see it, it is correct. Scarlet leades a strick pack, with strick morals and expects you to follow them all. Think you can hold up in this defensive pack? Unlike the Tynan's Scarlet does not promot bloodshed. Yet she can still have a nasty bite.

[ ]The Ceridwen Pack (1 sub-board)
Ceridwen is a pack of morals. Unlike the others that roam the land, they are just creatures, if fearless ones. Many see them and their leader, Red Rum, as weak; do not make that mistake. Red Rum leads with honor, though the pack is built on strict morals and equality. It takes a truly good wolf to earn a place in Ceridwen. Can you run with those who are true to themselves, or do you seek the foolishness of bloodshed without reason?

The Deadwood :: Ironically, the place where the good guys live.
[ ]The Ash Lake
Back when Governor McKean's men explored the forest, this lake had no name. Now it is known as the Ash Lake, for the trees surrounding it are, for the most part, eerie and dead, and the murky water only shines gray, even in the sunlight. The place, like most of the forest, gives off the feeling of evil... and for some reason, the faint tang of smoke.
136
[ ]Catastrophe Mountain
The peak of Catastrophe Mountain provides a breathtaking view of the Deadwood, despite the mountain's relatively lacking height. However, few dare to venture up its steep slopes for fear of being caught up in tumbling debris and thrown to a rather grisly death. But hey, if you really do have a deathwish... no one's stopping you.

[ ]Akko River
Akko River is a gathering place, for good reason: the waters are cool and crystal clear, full of fish; the banks are lush with tall grass and wildflowers; and the air is sweet with the smell of fruit. With this bounty comes the forest's wide range of wildlife. It is truly a beautiful spot... or could it be all in your head?
273
[ ]Death's Edge Waterfall
Stand at the top of this waterfall and risk a bloody, painful death. The stones at the top are slick and the ones at the bottom are dangerous spikes. This site is one of murder, suicide, and careless death, and though a handful have survived the drop, you would be wise to enjoy the view from twenty paces back.

The Haunted Lands :: Do you fear death? Do you fear that dark abyss?
[ ]Windhallow Clearing
Here is the clearing Andrew Larson and his company explored on the fourth day of their ill-fated expedition. Though the trees are wider apart here, and allow sunlight to gleam dimly down between their branches, the faint red stains on them are enough to make even the bravest creature uneasy.
00
[ ]The Black Pool
The future residents of Windhallow never discovered this place, but the wolves did. The trees are thick, and the air is taut with an ever-present pall of death. Few are brave enough -- or stupid enough -- to peer into the black depths... but some claim to have seen things in the water.
110
[ ]The Heart
It is from the Heart, they say, that the Hellborn first came. Certainly they are at their most potent here. This is the very center of the Deadwood, a clearing that emanates a black aura and will make even the bravest wolf quiver with uneasiness. Very few animals dare venture here.
